Rafael Bello
Goldsmith, Sculptor & Painter
Born in Havana, Cuba, he studied painting and sculpture at the San Alejandro School of Fine Arts.
In 1982, he exhibited a group of sculptures in his first solo exhibition at the National Puppet Theater in Cuba. From that moment on, he divided his time between artistic creation and teaching, establishing himself as one of the most important contemporary Cuban goldsmiths and sculptors of the second half of the 20th century.
Throughout his 42-year career, Bello has shared his knowledge with other goldsmiths across Latin America, frequently being invited to teach specialized workshops at major educational centers such as the Autonomous University of Honduras, the Faculty of Fashion Design and Architecture at UNITEC University in Tegucigalpa, and public institutions such as the Museum of Fine Arts in Caracas and the Sofía Imber Museum of Contemporary Art.
He has also worked at the Studio Metallo School in Costa Rica and the Monseñor de Talavera Institute in Caracas, where he taught jewelry. During this time, he has worked in his own workshop in the various countries where he has lived.
Rafael Bello was born in Cuba, but later settled and became a naturalized Venezuelan. He subsequently lived in Paris, Colombia, Panama, and Ecuador.

La Valerosa Mining Plant SAC
La Valerosa Mining Plant SAC is a small, privately owned gold ore processing plant located in southern Peru. As a concentrator, it processes ore and converts it into gold-laden activated carbon in collaboration with small-scale miners. Despite its size, La Valerosa donates more than 25% of its revenue to Amamericana, which significantly contributes to funding our humanitarian programs in the region.
